SWORD ART ONLINE 「ソードアート・オンライン」 Release

Logout option disappeared? Looks like someone’s trolling around ya…

I have to say, there are many other similarities with this series:

  • Catherine: When someone dies in the nightmare, that person also dies in reality. In SAO, when HP reaches 0, the person also dies in the real world.
  • Assassin’s Creed: There’s a device with a system dubbed Animus where the person roaming around the ancestor’s computer-generated world using the nerve signals. Same in SAO, the NerveGear device also using the nerve signals.
  • Persona 3: The Tartarus tower contains 300+ floors, some specific floors have the boss. In SAO, Aincrad tower has 100 floors & each of them has a boss.

Don’t say that virtual reality technology only exists in the modern age. It existed since late ’80s, but totally a failure. Some retro VR devices including:

The Angry Video Game Nerd episode about the device by James Rolfe.

Another AVGN episode about the device. Really sarcastic review. Funny lol.

Anyway, that was a best start of the series. I laughed at the part where the true identity of the players revealed by the mirror given by the Game Master. The protagonist is much better than the one from Accel World. The OST are superb thanks to Yuki Kajiura. LiSA’s new song is too awesome! So much win here! Can’t wait for Asuna appearance. True MMORPG fans including me should watch this! Truly the most anticipated anime this season!

Have fun playing the work-less online game ever; by watching.
